Duo Antithesis and Brodmann at the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts CentreRecently, Brodmann were asked to provide a matching instrument for a concert for 2 pianos at a well known venue in East Anglia, England. The Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre has a 3 year old Bösendorfer piano and Brodmann supplied their PE 228 model (7’ 6”) to match it.
The concert was very successful and the organiser sent us this note after the concert:
Just a note to say thank you very much for the loan of the wonderful Brodmann half concert grand last Saturday. The two pianos matched extremely well; with such skilled performers as Petros and Dimitris they almost sounded like one instrument- I couldn't believe it ! You and your technicians have really made a good job of this piano. Jillian Skerry.
One of the Regional papers reviewed the concert and wrote:
World Class Music on Our Doorstep
Earlier this month two instruments became one in the Hinchingbrooke Performing Arts Centre as the two piano Duo Antithesis wove their particular magic for a delighted audience in the first of the current series of Bösendorfer Piano Concerts. The resident Bösendorfer 280 Concert Grand was joined and perfectly matched by a fine Brodmann 7’ 6” instrument to facilitate this unusual event.
Presenting a programme of music by Rachmaninoff, Piazzolla, Lutoslawsky and Shostakovich, Petros Moschos and Dimitris Karydis displayed those exceptional musical and pianistic skills which have earned them a well deserved international reputation. In a magnificent and varied sound world, magical tonal colours and textures, passion and sensitivity and, at times, even that rare and elusive timelessness given only to very few performances were the order of the day.
This was an evening of world class music making on our doorstep; why travel to London to experience the same or less? |
