As a practising musician for most of his life, he worked in the music business since 1980 and started in 1986 as the owner of a full line music store in Vienna with import and export relations with wholesalers and retail operations world wide. He was the concert technician for Bösendorfer in the United Kingdom, and a part-time lecturer in piano tuning and restoration at The London Guildhall University, prior to his appointment as General Manager of Bösendorfer London Piano Centre in 1989.
